Renewable Energy
Anaerobic digestion is a source of renewable energy, producing a gas from waste. This bio-gas can be used to produce electricity and heat for onsite applications and any excess bio-gas when upgraded to bio-methane can be injected into the gas grid or used as fuel for transportation.
Energy prices are set to rise rapidly over the next few years as a result of dwindling supplies of fossil fuels so the renewable energy produced by anaerobic digestion will become an increasingly important source of cheap energy for business in the next decade.
